Originally hailing from the San Francisco Bay Area, Matthew comes from a diverse and creative background. His Japanese / Italian family taught him during his formative years to appreciate and respect a multitude of different cultures and ideas, the most dominant of which was a love of the arts.
Matthew has since pursued creative interests in film, television, and theatre. Notable TV credits include Agent Garret Hansen on State of Affairs (NBC), Sergio Beltran on The Good Doctor (ABC), and Gene ‘Wonk’ on SEAL TEAM (CBS). Matthew has also been seen on various shows and films such as Scorpion (CBS), How To Get Away With Murder (ABC), American Horror Story (FX), Speechless (ABC), Game Shakers (Nickelodeon), Bob Hearts Abishola (CBS), Season of Love (Tello Films) and Hollywood Stargirl (Disney+).
Recently, Matthew was seen onstage at the Zephyr Theatre in Los Angeles in EightBall Theatre’s Clara Vs. Infinity, and in the film festival circuit with Just Between Us, a delightful rom-com written by Zac Hug and Ben Baur winning Best Short at the iconic Honolulu Rainbow Film Festival in Hawaii and screening at the Oscar-qualifying Hollyshorts Festival at Grauman’s Chinese Theatre and Film Out: San Diego!
Matthew is a firm believer in positive karma, and is constantly finding new ways to maintain creativity.
He is currently working towards American Sign Language Interpreting & Deaf Studies degrees, and practices the art of shinrin-yoku (forest-bathing) whenever he can. Matthew also enjoys volunteering, producing, writing and film-making, while always maintaining an optimistic approach to life.
